Domestic Violence Homicide Memorial

The Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women is hosting a Domestic Violence Homicide Memorial.

From the MCBW website, information about the event includes:

“To honor the lives of those we have lost to domestic violence, we will host a memorial and reception in the afternoon at the St. Paul College Club in St. Paul. The memorial will include reading the names of the 2016 victims of domestic violence homicide and a display of the 2016 Clothesline Project, a visual memorial that bears witness to the violence our communities face. The Clothesline Project and Femicide Report emphasize the immeasurable impact of domestic violence on our families, schools, workplaces, communities – and ultimately on the quality of life in Minnesota.

“While this is a public event, we are extending special invitations to family members and friends of those who have died as a result of domestic violence. We are also extending express invitations to staff and volunteers of domestic violence programs, legislators, and criminal justice system personnel. We ask media to attend the press conference in the morning in effort to respect the identity of survivors and victims friends and family.”
