In this 90-minute webinar, we will:
- Learn about the various ways that survivors’ trauma reactions may play out in helping settings physically, emotionally, and behaviorally.
- Identify some strategies for creating a warm and welcoming environment for survivors accessing helping services.
- Learn ways to foster a collaborative, empowering professional relationship with survivors.
About the Speaker:
Meggie Royer is the Youth and Prevention Program Manager at Violence Free Minnesota, a statewide domestic violence coalition. At VFMN, she currently co-authors the Intimate Partner Homicide Report with colleagues and leads the coalition’s survivor healthcare and youth advisory board work. Previously, she worked at a domestic violence shelter as an education and outreach coordinator, and at a hospital as a domestic violence advocate. For the past five years, she has run a literary and arts journal dedicated to empowering survivors of abuse.
