In this 90-minute webinar with the Domestic Abuse Project (DAP), we will:
- Define boundaries for children and adults, learn how they can be used and invalidated in abusive behavior, and discuss how children’s boundaries are a fundamental part of the developmental process.
- Discuss how parents, caregivers, and other supportive professionals (advocates, school counselors, teachers) can maintain boundaries and use honest and open communication to support children when struggling with boundaries; gain insight into when might be appropriate times to maintain a boundary vs. be flexible with a boundary.
- Consider children’s emotional health and regulation and how this can be affected as well as supported by boundaries, and discuss strategies and frameworks for understanding children who regularly challenge boundaries.
Live closed-captioning and ASL interpretation will be available for this webinar. You will also have the opportunity to request a certificate of attendance. This event will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel at: http://www.youtube.com/c/womensadvocates
